Australia fast bowler Mitchell Starc has reclaimed the top spot in the ICC test bowling rankings, displacing South Africa all-rounder Marco Jansen following an impressive performance in their recently concluded series.
The 36-year-old was the leading wicket-taker in the three-test series in South Africa, claiming 15 wickets despite Australia losing the contest 2-1.
Starc finished with nine wickets in the final test, including a first-innings haul of six for 72, although Australia suffered a heavy defeat in the match.
Jansen had climbed to the top of both the bowling and all-rounder rankings last week after an outstanding performance with bat and ball in the second test.
South Africa spinner Simon Harmer, meanwhile, moved up nine places to seventh in the bowling rankings after claiming his maiden 10-wicket match haul in the third test. Harmer was named Player of the Match for his performance.
