DOHA :  More than 2,200 runners from various nationalities and age groups took part in the inaugural PSG QNB WE RUN DOHA race at Lusail International Circuit, highlighting growing interest in community sports in Qatar.

A total of 2,243 participants joined the event, organised by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in collaboration with Qatar National Bank (QNB) and the Qatar Sports for All Federation, under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth.

Qatari nationals accounted for around 58% of the participants, while the Filipino, Indian, British and French communities were among the most represented groups.

The event was attended by several senior officials and dignitaries, including Qatar Tourism Chairman Saad Al Kharji, PSG President Nasser Al Khelaifi and Qatar Sports for All Federation Executive Director Abdullah Al Dosari.

QNB Group Chief Business Officer Yousuf Al Neama, Lusail International Circuit Chairman Abdulrahman Al Mannai and PSG defender Presnel Kimpembe were also present.

Al Dosari described the inaugural race as a success, praising the strong turnout and diversity of participants in terms of age and nationality.

He said the event was a valuable addition to Qatar’s community sports calendar and demonstrated the benefits of working with PSG to deliver an event combining international appeal with local participation.

Al Dosari also credited the partners for their contribution to the event’s success, saying the strong participation by Qatari nationals reflected growing enthusiasm for running and community-based sporting activities.

The race is part of wider efforts to promote active lifestyles and expand opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to participate in sport across Qatar.
