DOHA : The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Athletes Commission held its 2026 Ordinary General Assembly meeting on Thursday, focusing on future plans and athlete development initiatives.
The meeting was chaired by Mutaz Essa Barshim, Secretary-General of the Commission, and attended by Assistant Secretary-General Nada Mohammed Wafa, alongside members of the General Assembly and a QOC representative.
Members approved the minutes of the previous session and reviewed the Board’s report outlining activities over the past year. The Commission also endorsed the final accounts for the previous financial year in line with the auditor’s report and approved the proposed budget.
Discussions centred on objectives for the coming year, with a focus on enhancing athletes’ technical performance and addressing challenges they face both on and off the field.
The Commission also highlighted the importance of organising workshops and awareness programmes to strengthen sports culture and create an environment that supports athletes’ development and success at continental and international levels.
