Brackley ,United Kingdom : Mercedes have appointed Bradley Lord as deputy team principal with immediate effect, the Formula One team said on Friday, formalising a senior leadership role that had effectively already been in place.
Team principal and chief executive Toto Wolff said the move reflected the increasing scale of the team’s operations and responsibilities.
“With the growth of our team and F1, the scope of our operations and associated responsibilities at a senior level has grown significantly,” Wolff said in a statement.
“We have therefore taken this opportunity to put in place a change that has effectively been operating in practice for some time.”
Lord will continue in his existing roles as Mercedes’ official team representative and chief communications officer.
Mercedes lead the constructors’ championship after back-to-back one-two finishes in the Australian and Chinese Grands Prix.
