London, Britain : Manchester City reignited the Premier League title race with a dominant 3-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Second-half goals from Nico O’Reilly, Marc Guehi and Jeremy Doku sealed the victory, cutting the gap to leaders Arsenal to six points, with City also holding a game in hand ahead of a crucial clash between the two sides next weekend.
Manager Pep Guardiola’s side capitalized on Arsenal’s shock defeat to Bournemouth, continuing their resurgence after recent cup successes.
At the other end of the table, Tottenham Hotspur slipped deeper into relegation trouble following a 1-0 defeat to Sunderland. Nordi Mukiele scored the decisive goal, extending Tottenham’s winless run to 14 league matches — their worst since 1935.
Elsewhere, Nottingham Forest drew 1-1 with Aston Villa in a key relegation battle, while Crystal Palace came from behind to beat Newcastle United 2-1 thanks to a late brace from Jean-Philippe Mateta.
City’s emphatic win, combined with Arsenal’s stumble, has set up a potentially decisive title showdown, while Tottenham’s prolonged slump leaves them staring at the threat of relegation.
