Mumbai : Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya admitted the team must “go back to the drawing board” after a third straight defeat in the Indian Premier League.
Mumbai fell to an 18-run loss against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Wankhede Stadium, leaving the five-time champions eighth in the standings with just two points from four matches.
Despite boasting star players such as Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah and Tilak Varma, Mumbai have struggled to find rhythm with both bat and ball.
Pandya pointed to issues in the powerplay as a major concern, with the bowling unit failing to take early wickets and relying too heavily on Bumrah, while the batting lineup has lacked consistency at the top.
Possible changes could include promoting Naman Dhir up the order and bringing in Will Jacks to improve balance, potentially at the expense of Mitchell Santner.
Mumbai will look to turn things around when they face Punjab Kings next, while Bengaluru prepare to take on Lucknow Super Giants.
