Doha : Al Rayyan booked their place in the semi-finals of the Qatar Cup men’s basketball tournament (2025–2026) with a dominant 70–47 win over Al Khor on Wednesday at Al Rayyan Sports Club Hall in Doha.
Al Rayyan set the tone early, racing to a 23–6 lead in the first quarter and maintaining control throughout. The remaining quarters ended 12–14, 21–16, and 14–11, sealing a comfortable victory.
Abdullah Yassin was named Player of the Match after contributing 15 points, along with one rebound and three assists.
Al Rayyan will now face the winner of the quarter-final clash between defending champions Al Arabi and Al Sadd in the semi-finals on April 13.
Earlier in the day, Al Sadd advanced from the preliminary round with a 78–67 win over Al Ahli.
More quarter-final action continues at Al Gharafa Sports Club Hall, where Al Wakrah face Qatar, and Al Gharafa take on Al Shamal.
Historically, the Qatar Cup has been highly competitive, with Al Gharafa and Al Arabi leading the way with four titles each, while Al Rayyan, Qatar, Al Wakrah, and Al Sadd have each lifted the trophy once.
