Doha : Al Sadd secured their spot in the quarter-finals of the Qatar Basketball Cup (2025–2026) after a solid 78–67 victory over Al Ahli in Wednesday’s preliminary round clash in Doha.
Al Sadd started strongly, taking the first quarter 23–9, and maintained their edge despite a competitive second half. The remaining quarters ended 20–25, 17–12, and 18–21, ensuring a comfortable win overall.
Mustafa Fouda was named MVP after an impressive performance, recording 18 points, three rebounds, and five assists.
Al Sadd will now face defending champions Al Arabi in the quarter-finals on April 11.
Later the same day, Al Rayyan take on Al Khor, with Al Rayyan aiming to bounce back from a recent league defeat, while Al Khor look to spring an upset.
Further quarter-final action continues at Al Gharafa Sports Club, where Al Wakrah face Qatar SC, and Al Gharafa meet Al Shamal.
The semi-finals are scheduled for April 13, with winners progressing to the final on April 16 at Al Gharafa Sports Club.
