HARARE : Zimbabwe have appointed Richard Ngarava as captain of their Test and One-Day International teams while retaining veteran Sikandar Raza as Twenty20 skipper, Zimbabwe Cricket said on Friday.
Josephine Nkomo was also named captain of the Zimbabwe women’s team.
Ngarava made his captaincy debut in last month’s one-off Test against Bangladesh at Harare Sports Club, leading Zimbabwe to an innings and 85-run victory.
The 28-year-old left-arm fast bowler also captained Zimbabwe to back-to-back ODI victories over Bangladesh this week.
Ngarava succeeds Craig Ervine as Zimbabwe’s Test captain and will also lead the ODI side as the team begins a new leadership cycle.
