Iga Swiatek has appointed Spanish coach Francisco Roig following her split with Wim Fissette last month.
The world number four, a six-time Grand Slam champion, ended her 17-month partnership with Fissette after an early exit at the Miami Open, where she lost to Magda Linette.
“Welcome to the team, Francisco! Very excited for this new chapter,” Swiatek wrote on Instagram on Thursday.
Roig was part of Rafael Nadal’s team during a period that yielded 16 Grand Slam titles and later coached Emma Raducanu, though that stint lasted six months.
Swiatek has endured a challenging season, with quarter-final exits at the Australian Open, Qatar Open and Indian Wells before her Miami defeat.
The 24-year-old will next target a fifth title at the French Open, which begins next month.
