DOHA: The Qatar Sports for All Federation’s (QSFA) Sports for All Oasis programme continues to attract strong participation from women and girls of different age groups as part of efforts to promote physical activity and encourage healthier lifestyles.
Organised under the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the three-month programme takes place from Sunday to Wednesday each week at Ruqaya Preparatory School for Girls in Umm Al Seneem, with activities running from 4pm to 7pm.
The initiative offers women and girls a safe and comfortable environment that respects their privacy while encouraging families to make sports part of their daily routines.
Participants can take part in football, volleyball, badminton and basketball, alongside fitness workouts, walking, strength training, stretching and balance exercises.
All activities are supervised by professional female trainers and an all-female administrative and technical team.
Meanwhile, the women’s sports evening at Oxygen Park in Education City continues to attract participants, with the latest session drawing 319 women and girls.
The event, open to women and girls aged 12 and above, featured fitness exercises, football, netball and volleyball, alongside a dedicated recreational area for children.
QSFA Executive Director Abdullah Al Dosari welcomed the strong turnout, particularly the participation of mothers accompanying their daughters.
He said the programme reflected the federation’s commitment to strengthening family involvement in sports and supporting the Ministry of Sports and Youth’s efforts to increase women’s participation in physical activities.
