DOHA : Qatar Sports for All Federation will join French football club Paris St Germain in organising the “We Run Doha” race at Lusail International Circuit on Oct. 30, with up to 2,000 participants expected.
The event will offer three distances: a 1km race for children and 5km and 10km races for adults. Families, young people, individual runners and corporate teams are expected to take part.
Registration is open to all ages and nationalities through the federation’s app.
Abdullah Al Dosari, the federation’s executive director, said the race would be a valuable addition to Qatar’s calendar of community sporting events.
He said the partnership with PSG would give the event an international dimension while retaining a local character, offering participants a distinctive sporting experience.
Al Dosari said the three race distances were designed to accommodate people of different ages and fitness levels, helping broaden participation in running and encourage greater interest in community sports.
He added that Lusail International Circuit, a venue that hosts major sporting events, would provide an additional attraction for participants.
Al Dosari expressed hope that the race would draw a strong turnout and create a competitive atmosphere while encouraging people to adopt active lifestyles.
The event forms part of broader efforts to promote physical activity in Qatar and provide opportunities for people of all ages to take part in community sports.
