DOHA : Three players from Qatar’s national basketball team are taking part in a development camp organised by the NBA Academy in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, through Sept. 27.
Azam Mohamed Yakan, Amer Hossawi and Ahmed Yasin Ismail are representing Qatar at the camp as part of the Qatar Basketball Federation’s (QBF) programme to develop young players and prepare them for professional training opportunities.
The camp provides the trio with an international training environment focused on improving their basketball skills as well as their coaching and physical development.
QBF has placed emphasis on the development of its youth national teams through participation in international camps and tournaments, with the aim of giving young players greater exposure and experience.
The federation sees such programmes as an opportunity for players to benefit from international training and support their long-term development.
The participation of Yakan, Hossawi and Ismail in Abu Dhabi is therefore part of QBF’s wider effort to develop young talent and prepare players to represent Qatar in future competitions.
