SANYA, China : Senior officials from the Qatar Olympic Committee visited the national delegation’s base in Sanya to assess preparations ahead of the Asian Beach Games in Hainan Province.
Second Vice President Thani bin Abdulrahman Al Kuwari and Secretary-General Jassim bin Rashid Al Buainain met athletes and team officials, urging them to maintain discipline and deliver performances that reflect Qatar’s growing stature in continental sport.
Officials were briefed on logistical and administrative arrangements at the team headquarters and praised the support systems in place to ensure optimal conditions for athletes.
Qatar will compete in seven sports at the Games, including volleyball, 3×3 basketball, handball, sailing, aquathlon, jujitsu and wrestling, with both men’s and women’s participation in selected events.
The country has been a regular participant in the Asian Beach Games since the inaugural edition in 2008 and claimed its first gold medal in 2012, in handball.
