Doha : Qatar have named a 32-man squad for a March training camp as they step up preparations for the 2026 World Cup, the Qatar Football Association said on Friday.
Spanish coach Julen Lopetegui selected four goalkeepers in the squad: Meshaal Barsham, Mahmoud Abunada, Shehab Al Laithi and Salah Zakaria.
Among the outfield players called up are Akram Afif, Almoez Ali, Hassan Al Haydos, Pedro Miguel, Boualem Khoukhi, Karim Boudiaf and Lucas Mendes.
The squad also includes Ahmed Al Ganehi, Ahmed Al Rawi, Anas Abdessalam, Ahmed Fatehi, Edmilson Junior, Ayoub Al Alawi, Ahmed Al Hassan, Al Hashmi Al Hussein, Bassam Al Rawi, Neil Mason, Assim Madibo, Khaled Ali, Issa Laye, Mohammed Khaled, Mohammed Al Mannai, Mubarak Shanan, Marwan Sherif, Mostafa Tarek, Homam Al Amin, Yusuf Abdurisag and Mohammed Waad.
The camp is part of Qatar’s build-up to the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Qatar have been drawn in Group B alongside Canada, Switzerland and the winners of the first European playoff path.
