DOHA : Qatar strengthened its grip on top spot in the overall medal standings at the 4th Gulf Games Doha 2026 after the fifth day of competition on Saturday, taking its tally to 96 medals.
The host nation now has 36 gold, 32 silver and 28 bronze medals after adding six golds, six silvers and two bronzes across snooker, shooting, bowling, table tennis and athletics events.
Saudi Arabia remained second in the standings with 53 medals, including 21 gold, 16 silver and 16 bronze.
Bahrain occupied third place with 45 medals made up of 18 gold, 17 silver and 10 bronze.
Oman stayed fourth with 23 medals overall, including eight gold, four silver and 11 bronze, while the United Arab Emirates moved to 39 medals with seven gold, 11 silver and 21 bronze.
Kuwait sat sixth with 38 medals, comprising six gold, 14 silver and 18 bronze.
2026 Gulf Games continues on Sunday with competitions scheduled in athletics, snooker, padel, bowling, table tennis and volleyball.
