TOKYO — Team Qatar concluded their esports campaign at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games after Rashid Al Oulan reached the semi-finals of the Gran Turismo 7 competition before finishing seventh.
In eFootball, Qatar lost 3-0 to South Korea in both the mobile and PC competitions.
Qatar then suffered defeats by Saudi Arabia, losing 4-1 on mobile and 4-2 on PC, before ending their group-stage campaign against Iran with 6-1 and 3-0 losses on mobile and PC respectively.
Al Oulan’s run to the Gran Turismo 7 semi-finals provided Qatar with a place among the leading competitors in the event, while the eFootball results ended the team’s group-stage campaign.
The participation gave Qatar’s esports players further experience at a major continental competition as the country continues to develop the sport.
Team Qatar will now turn its attention to future competitions, with the experience gained at Aichi-Nagoya providing part of its preparation for the next Asian Games in Doha in 2030.
