DOHA : Qatar secured two medals in the mixed doubles table tennis competition at the 4th Gulf Games Doha 2026 on Friday, winning one gold and one bronze on the penultimate day of the tournament.
The Qatari pair of Mohammed Abdulwahab and Aya Mohammed captured the gold medal with a straight-games victory over the Emirati duo of Ali Al Hawai and Noura Al Maazmi in the final.
Qatar also claimed bronze through Abdullah Abdulwahab and Mariam Ali, who defeated Bahrain’s Rashid Khalid and Rayan Emad 3-0 in the third-place playoff.
The table tennis competition concludes on Saturday with the finals in the men’s and women’s singles and men’s doubles events.
The men’s singles final will feature an all-Saudi showdown, while Qatar’s Aya Mohammed and Mariam Ali will face each other in the women’s singles final. In the men’s doubles final, Qatar’s Mohammed Abdulwahab and Abdullah Abdulwahab will take on Saudi Arabia’s Ali Al Khadrawi and Abdulaziz Boushlibi.
2026 Gulf Games continues in Doha until May 22 with athletes from across the Gulf region competing in multiple sports.
