DOHA : Qatar men’s national handball team secured the silver medal at the fourth GCC Games Doha 2026 after defeating Saudi Arabia men’s national handball team 32-24 in their final match on Friday.
Qatar finished second in the standings with six points, while Bahrain men’s national handball team claimed the gold medal with eight points. Saudi Arabia took bronze with four points.
The match was played at Duhail Sports Hall as the handball competition concluded after 12 days featuring teams from the six Gulf states.
The closing match was attended by Jassim Rashid Al Buenain, secretary-general of the Qatar Olympic Committee, Ahmed Al Shaabi, president of the Qatar Handball Association, and Mohammed Al Fadala, president of the Qatar Athletics Federation.
