DOHA : Hosts Qatar secured their second consecutive victory in the men’s volleyball competition at the GCC Games Doha 2026 on Saturday, defeating Oman in straight sets to book a place in the gold-medal decider against Bahrain.
Qatar dominated the contest 25-17, 25-13, 25-13, using a strong defensive display at the net and powerful attacking play to overwhelm Oman and wrap up the final two sets comfortably.
In the other second-round match of the four-team round-robin tournament, Bahrain also maintained their unbeaten record with a straight-sets victory over the United Arab Emirates.
The results leave Qatar and Bahrain level on six points at the top of the standings, while Oman and the United Arab Emirates are still searching for their first points of the competition.
The final round of matches will see Qatar face Bahrain in a winner-takes-all clash for the gold medal, while Oman and the UAE will meet to decide the bronze medal.
