NAGOYA, Japan — A three-day promotional campaign for the FIBA Basketball World Cup Qatar 2027 attracted basketball fans and athletes at Bayt Qatar during the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games.
The campaign, held on Sept. 20, 23 and 29, aimed to raise awareness of the tournament and showcase the Naismith Trophy to Olympic officials, Asian sports leaders, Asian Games athletes and fans visiting Bayt Qatar.
It also sought to engage supporters of Asian national teams that have qualified for the World Cup, which will be held in Doha from Aug. 12 to Sept. 27, 2027.
The campaign drew hundreds of basketball enthusiasts, Asian Games fans and athletes, bringing together activities focused on basketball and its wider cultural and social impact.
The Local Organizing Committee said the initiative was intended to strengthen sporting ties between Qatar and other Asian countries while using the Asian Games as a platform to promote the 2027 World Cup.
