NISSHIN, Japan — Pakistan beat Bangladesh by six wickets on Thursday to reach the gold medal match of the men’s cricket event at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
A wet outfield reduced the semi-final to 13 overs per side, with Pakistan choosing to field at Korogi Sports Park.
Towhid Hridoy’s quickfire 42 helped Bangladesh post 111-7, while Sufyan Moqim took 3-26.
Pakistan’s chase was led by useful contributions from Abdul Samad, Saim Ayub and Hasan Nawaz, who helped the team reach the target with nine balls remaining.
The victory sent Pakistan into the gold medal match, while Bangladesh will compete for bronze.
