Kolkata : Blessing Muzarabani has been handed a two-year ban from the Pakistan Super League after opting to join the Indian Premier League instead.
The fast bowler had agreed to play for Islamabad United but chose to sign with Kolkata Knight Riders as a replacement for Mustafizur Rahman.
In a statement, the Pakistan Cricket Board said Muzarabani violated contractual obligations by withdrawing from an agreed deal without valid reason, emphasizing the importance of honoring commitments in professional sport.
The scheduling overlap between the IPL and PSL has created increasing conflicts for players, making it difficult to participate in both tournaments.
The decision follows a similar case involving Corbin Bosch, who received a one-year PSL ban after choosing the IPL over a contract with Peshawar Zalmi.
