DOHA — A total of 1,089 male and female runners took part in the third round of the Sports For All (SFA) Summer Sizzler 2026 at the Aspire Indoor Track, the Qatar Sports For All Federation (QSFA) said.
The event, organised by QSFA under the Ministry of Sports and Youth, featured runners across different age groups in a family-oriented sporting atmosphere.
The general race, held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., attracted 571 runners, while the women’s race from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. drew 518 participants.
Runners aged over 17 competed in 30-minute and 15-minute races, while those aged seven to 17 took part in a 10-minute challenge. Children aged three to six competed in a five-minute race.
QSFA Executive Director Abdullah Al Dosari said the strong family participation had contributed to the atmosphere of the event, with parents encouraging children and young people to take part and make physical activity part of their daily routine.
He said the participation of different age groups also gave younger runners opportunities to gain new sporting experiences.
The Summer Sizzler is part of QSFA’s Sports for All Summer Program 2026, which includes sporting and recreational activities for different sections of society. The programme’s first phase attracted 36,100 participants.
The Summer Sizzler will conclude on Friday with its fourth and final round, before QSFA launches the SFA Fall Edition 2026 next month, bringing the summer programme to a close.
