Poland striker Robert Lewandowski will leave FC Barcelona at the end of the season after four years at the club, during which he helped the Catalan side win three LaLiga titles.
Media reports said the 37-year-old, whose contract expires this summer, has attracted interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia, Italy and the United States.
“After four years full of challenges and hard work, it’s time to move on. I leave with the feeling that the mission is complete,” Lewandowski wrote on Instagram on Saturday.
“I will never forget the love I received from the fans from my very first days. Catalonia is my place on Earth. Thank you to everyone I met along the way during these beautiful four years.”
Barcelona signed Lewandowski from FC Bayern Munich in 2022 for an initial fee of 45 million euros ($45.4 million) plus add-ons after the striker scored 344 goals for the German club and won eight Bundesliga titles and the Champions League.
Lewandowski finished as LaLiga’s top scorer with 23 goals in his debut season as Barcelona secured their first league title in four years. He also finished as the club’s leading scorer in the following two league campaigns, including 27 goals in the 2024-25 season as Barcelona retained the title.
This season, however, injuries limited his impact, with the veteran forward starting only 15 of his 29 LaLiga appearances and scoring 13 goals.
Lewandowski made a substitute appearance in Barcelona’s 2-0 Clasico victory over Real Madrid CF last weekend that sealed the league title, while his goal against CA Osasuna earlier this month proved crucial in the title run.
“Four seasons, three championships… Barca is back where it belongs,” Lewandowski added.
Barcelona conclude their season with matches against Real Betis and Valencia CF.
