BANGALORE: Virat Kohli etched his name deeper into cricket history as the Royal Challengers Bengaluru superstar became the first player ever to smash 800 fours in the history of the Indian Premier League.
The milestone came during an IPL 2026 clash against Gujarat Titans at the iconic M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Friday. Kohli reached the landmark in style, scoring his first boundary of the innings off South African pacer Kagiso Rabada.
With this achievement, Kohli moved further ahead of his peers on the all-time list for most fours in the IPL. Shikhar Dhawan sits second with 768 fours, followed by David Warner (663) and Rohit Sharma (653).
Adding to the celebrations, Kohli also became the first batter in IPL history to hammer 300 sixes for a single franchise, achieving the feat for Royal Challengers Bengaluru and reinforcing his legacy as one of the league’s all-time greats.
