BERLIN: Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina, ranked second in the world, won the Stuttgart Open tennis tournament, a 500-point event, after defeating Czech player Karolina Muchova, ranked twelfth in the world, in straight sets in today’s final.
Rybakina succeeded in winning the match with a score of (7-5) and (6-1), officially winning her second title this season three months after winning the Australian Open title, the first of the four Grand Slam tournaments.
This is also Rebakina’s second title in Stuttgart, having won her first title in 2024.
In contrast, Mochova, the runner-up at Roland Garros 2023, was unable to win her first 500-point title, as this was her first final in this category.
It is worth noting that the Stuttgart tournament is one of the preparatory tournaments for the French Open “Roland Garros” which will begin on May 18 in Paris.
