LONDON: Aaron Hardie delivered a match-winning all-round performance as Peshawar Zalmi held their nerve to beat Hyderabad Kingsmen by five wickets in the Pakistan Super League final on Sunday.
Chasing 130 for victory in Lahore, Zalmi reached the target with 28 balls to spare, powered by Hardie’s unbeaten 56 off 39 balls. He was well supported by Abdul Samad, who scored 48 off 34 deliveries.
The pair came together at a precarious 40 for four and stitched a crucial 85-run partnership for the fifth wicket, turning the game in Zalmi’s favour and guiding them to their second PSL title.
Earlier, Hardie had set the tone with the ball, returning figures of 4 for 27 in four overs to help restrict Hyderabad to 129 all out.
