Sydney, Australia : Ben Stokes is set to return to action for the first time since undergoing facial surgery after being named in Durham County Cricket Club‘s squad for their County Championship match against Worcestershire starting on Friday.
The England test captain suffered a fractured cheekbone during a training session in February after being struck by a ball in the nets, according to British media reports. The injury also left him with cuts and bruising to the face.
Durham confirmed on Thursday that the 34-year-old had completed his recovery following surgery.
Stokes last played for England cricket team during their series against Australia cricket team in January.
England’s next test match is against New Zealand cricket team at Lord’s Cricket Ground beginning on June 4.
