Caleb Foster is expected to play in Duke’s crucial Elite Eight clash against UConn Huskies, providing a timely boost after his recent injury layoff.
The point guard made a strong return in the Sweet 16, coming off the bench to score 11 points and add two assists in Duke’s 80-75 win over St. John’s Red Storm. That appearance came just three weeks after he suffered a foot fracture in a regular-season game against North Carolina Tar Heels.
Foster had undergone surgery to speed up recovery and missed both the ACC Tournament and Duke’s first two NCAA Tournament games. Despite the setback, he looks ready to contribute again at a key stage.
Before the injury, Foster had been a regular starter, featuring in 30 of 32 games and averaging 8.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game, while shooting nearly 40% from three-point range.
His return adds depth and playmaking to a Duke side aiming to secure a Final Four spot.
