DHAKA: In the second and final Test match of the series against Pakistan, Bangladesh have moved into a strong position by setting Pakistan a target of 437 runs to win the match and level the series.
Pakistan’s innings began, but after just the second over, play was stopped by the umpires due to bad light. Pakistan are yet to score in their second innings, with both openers still at the crease.
It is worth noting that after winning the first Test in Dhaka, Bangladesh already hold an unbeatable 1-0 lead in the series.
In the second Test being played in Sylhet, Bangladesh were bowled out for 390 runs in their second innings. Combined with their first-innings lead of 46 runs, they managed to set the visitors a challenging target that does not appear easy to chase.
For Bangladesh, Mushfiqur Rahim was the top scorer in the second innings with 137 runs. Apart from him, Litton Das — who had scored a century in the first innings — and opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy also contributed with half-centuries.
