DOHA : Aspetar, Qatar’s specialised orthopaedic and sports medicine hospital, will provide comprehensive medical coverage for athletes competing at the Doha Diamond League meeting on Friday, organisers said.
The event, the seventh stop on the 2026 Wanda Diamond League circuit, will take place at Qatar Sports Club and feature a strong international field, including Olympic high jump champion Mutaz Barshim.
Working in partnership with the Qatar Athletics Federation, Aspetar will deploy medical teams throughout the competition venue to provide immediate assessment, emergency response and injury management services during the meeting.
The hospital will also offer off-site support, including advanced diagnostics and treatment services, in coordination with athletics officials, to ensure athletes receive medical care when required.
The Doha meeting is one of the premier events on the global athletics calendar and is expected to attract leading competitors from around the world across a range of disciplines.
Aspetar has established itself as a key provider of sports medicine services for elite athletes and major sporting events in Qatar. The hospital has previously worked with a number of international athletes, including Olympic javelin champion Neeraj Chopra.
Organisers said Aspetar’s involvement reflects its ongoing commitment to athlete welfare and its role in supporting the delivery of major international sporting events in Qatar.
Barshim, one of Qatar’s most decorated athletes, is among the headline attractions for the meeting as he continues his preparations for another major championship season.
