Chicago, Illinois, USA: The arrival of Angel Reese has had an immediate impact off the court, with ticket demand for the Atlanta Dream skyrocketing following her acquisition from the Chicago Sky.
According to StubHub, ticket demand for the Dream surged 15 times in a single day after the trade — the biggest spike in franchise history — highlighting what fans are calling the “Angel Reese Effect.”
The deal, completed on Monday, saw Chicago receive Atlanta’s first-round draft picks in 2027 and 2028, along with the right to swap second-round picks in 2028.
Reese, 23, has quickly established herself as one of the WNBA’s brightest stars. She led the league in rebounding in each of her first two seasons, averaging 13.1 boards per game in 2024 and 12.6 last season — the two highest single-season marks in league history.
A two-time All-Star, Reese has recorded 49 double-doubles in just 64 career games and averaged 14.7 points per game last season, building on her 13.6-point rookie campaign.
Her move to Atlanta is already generating excitement among fans, with expectations rising both for on-court success and continued commercial momentum for the franchise.
