Tokyo: Team Qatar sprinter Ammar Ibrahim qualified for the men’s 400m final yesterday after finishing second in the heats with a time of 45.31 seconds.
Ammar will compete in today’s final with high ambitions as he looks to challenge for a medal in a highly competitive race.
Meanwhile, Ashraf Othman finished fourth in the 400m with a time of 45.93 seconds.
Elsewhere, Team Qatar hammer thrower Ashraf Al Seify recorded his season best with a throw of 71.41m in yesterday’s final at the 20th Asian Games.
Al Seify finished fifth in the hammer throw final at Aichi-Nagoya 2026, 2.97 metres behind Uzbekistan’s Sukhrob Khodjaev, who claimed the gold medal.
