DOHA: Al Gharafa SC successfully defended their crown and lifted a historic ninth Amir Cup title after a commanding 4-1 victory over Al Sadd SC at Khalifa International Stadium on Saturday.
The final was played in the presence of Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and attracted 37,823 spectators from across Qatar and the region, creating a vibrant atmosphere for one of the country’s biggest football occasions.
Led by captain Yacine Brahimi, Al Gharafa produced a dominant display against one of the competition’s most successful clubs to secure back-to-back Amir Cup triumphs.
Fans arriving at the stadium enjoyed a festive match-day experience, with cultural performances, entertainment activities, and prize draws taking place in the Fan Zone ahead of kick-off.
Hosted annually by the Qatar Football Association, the tournament celebrated its 54th edition this year and featured 20 clubs from Qatar’s first and second divisions.
The 2026 final also marked a technological milestone in Qatari football broadcasting. For the first time, dedicated corner cameras were introduced to capture immersive on-pitch angles and key moments throughout the match. The innovation was implemented by Al Kass TV, the official broadcaster of the final, using FIFA-endorsed integrative technology.
Another standout feature of the tournament was the introduction of a special gold edition of the “Vantaggio” official match ball. Produced by Molten Corporation, the ball was designed to celebrate Qatar’s football culture and heritage, incorporating traditional patterns alongside the colors of the national flag and the Amir Cup trophy.
