DOHA : Al Arabi beat Al Ahli 30-26 in the 16th round of the Qatar Handball League on Saturday to extend their lead at the top of the standings and preserve their unbeaten record.
The win took Al Arabi to 48 points, keeping them clear in first place without a defeat this season, while Al Ahli remained sixth on 29 points.
Second-placed Al Duhail defeated Al Gharafa 31-24 to move to 44 points. Al Gharafa are eighth with 25 points.
Al Sadd edged Al Rayyan 36-34 to climb to 32 points in fourth place, just behind Al Rayyan, who stayed third on 38 despite the loss.
Qatar Club beat Al Khor 26-24 to move up to ninth with 24 points, while Al Khor slipped to seventh on 28.
Al Wakrah overcame Al Shamal 33-28 to reach 29 points and rise to fifth place, with Al Shamal dropping to 10th on 23.
