AMSTERDAM : Ajax Amsterdam continued their busy pre-season recruitment by signing former Germany goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen on a season-long loan from Barcelona, the Dutch club said on Tuesday.
The 34-year-old becomes Ajax’s latest high-profile arrival ahead of the new campaign as the club strengthens its squad.
Ter Stegen’s move follows the signing of former Germany international Julian Brandt, who joined Ajax on a free transfer last week after his contract expired, agreeing a three-year deal.
Ajax have also bolstered their attacking options by bringing in Nigeria striker Tolu Arokodare on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Eredivisie club further reinforced their frontline by completing the permanent signing of Brazilian striker Marcos Leonardo from Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal for a fee reported to be just under 20 million euros ($22.88 million). The 22-year-old signed a five-year contract with Ajax.
