NAGOYA, Japan — Qatar finished runners-up in Group C of the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games volleyball tournament despite losing 3-2 to India in a match that lasted more than two hours.
Qatar won the opening two sets 28-26 and 27-25 to move closer to victory, but India fought back to take the next two 25-23 and 25-20 and force a deciding fifth set.
The final set was another closely contested affair, with India edging Qatar 24-22 to complete a 3-2 victory.
Despite the defeat, Qatar advanced to the second round after finishing second in the group.
Qatar will face Japan in the second round as they continue their Asian Games campaign.
