OSLO : Qatar’s Abderrahman Samba finished fifth in the men’s 400 metres hurdles at the Oslo Bislett Games on Thursday, the sixth meeting of the 2026 Diamond League season.
Samba clocked 48.40 seconds after a fast start that saw him lead the race through the early stages before fading in the closing metres.
The appearance marked the Qatari athlete’s second Diamond League outing of the season following his participation in Xiamen, China, as he continues preparations for upcoming competitions, including the Asian Games in Japan.
Brazil’s Alison dos Santos won the race in 46.89 seconds to claim his second consecutive Diamond League victory after also triumphing in Stockholm.
Norway’s Karsten Warholm finished second in 47.40 seconds in front of his home crowd, while American Caleb Dean took third place in 48.22 seconds.
Warholm remains the Diamond League record holder in the event with a time of 46.52 seconds, set in Oslo in 2023.
Samba, a former world championship medallist, is using the Diamond League circuit to build form ahead of the season’s major championships and the Asian Games later this year.
