Ahmedabad: Openers Sai Sudharsan and skipper Shubman Gill smashed impressive half-centuries as Gujarat stormed to an 89-run victory over Chennai in their IPL 2026 clash in on Thursday.
The pair added 125 runs for the first wicket, helping GT post a massive 229/4 after being asked to bat first. Sudharsan led the charge with 84 off 53 balls, while Gill struck 64 off 37 deliveries. Jos Buttler added late fireworks with an unbeaten 57 off just 27 balls.
In reply, CSK collapsed for 140 in 13.4 overs as Mohammed Siraj (3/26), Rashid Khan (3/18), and Kagiso Rabada (3/32) dismantled the batting lineup. The heavy defeat officially knocked Chennai Super Kings out of the IPL 2026 season.
