TASHKENT : Qatar secured the bronze medal at the AVC Asian U18 Beach Volleyball Championships 2026 in Tashkent on Sunday.
The Qatari men’s team, made up of Moussa Alkheer and Mubarak Musa, defeated Australia’s duo Mowen and Symes in straight sets in the third-place playoff.
Qatar had earlier suffered a narrow semifinal defeat to Kazakhstan’s pairing of Sagynysh and Agabek, losing in three sets.
The Qatari duo had already made history at the tournament by qualifying for the FIVB U18 Beach Volleyball World Championships 2026 for the first time after beating Iran in straight sets in the quarterfinals.
