DOHA – Umm Salal SC and Al Wakrah SC played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in the 17th round of the Doha Bank Stars League 2025/2026 season at Al Khor SC Stadium on Friday evening.
Al Wakrah opened the scoring in the 18th minute through Youssef Abdul Razzaq, but Abdul Rahman Al Rashidi restored parity for Umm Salal before the break as the sides went into halftime level at 1-1.
Umm Salal captain Osama Tannane put his team ahead midway through the second half, raising hopes of a vital victory for the Falcons. However, Radwan Berkane struck in the dying moments to secure a late equaliser for Al Wakrah.
The result means Umm Salal extended their unbeaten run to three matches, though they will rue missing out on three crucial points. They moved up temporarily to ninth place with 16 points.
Al Wakrah, coming off a defeat in the previous round, managed to salvage a point to remain seventh with 23 points, capitalising on Al Duhail SC’s loss in the same round.
The match was officiated by referee Abdulrahman Al-Mulla, assisted by Saud Ahmed and Falah Al-Shahrani, with Farhan Al-Ruwaili as fourth official. Abdullah Al-Athba served as VAR referee and Faisal Al-Shammari as assistant VAR referee.
