LONDON : Organisers of the British Grand Prix have announced a unique addition to the race weekend at Silverstone Circuit — a live darts event titled “A Night at the Darts.”
The exhibition will feature some of the biggest names in darts, including reigning world champion Luke Littler, world No.2 Luke Humphries, three-time world champion Michael van Gerwen, and trailblazing star Fallon Sherrock. The players will compete at a specially set up stage in the fan park during the Formula One weekend.
Fans attending the race will be able to purchase tickets for the darts show as an additional entertainment option after the July 5 race. Van Gerwen said the atmosphere is expected to be electric, highlighting the combination of a huge crowd and a high-energy sporting setting.
Silverstone’s chief commercial officer, Nick Read, said the circuit is always looking for new ways to enhance the fan experience. With the British Grand Prix already one of the biggest sporting weekends in the UK, organisers believe adding a major darts spectacle will create even more excitement.
Last year, the race attracted around 500,000 spectators over the weekend, making the Silverstone event the best-attended race on the Formula One calendar, with live music and entertainment spread across multiple stages.
