DOHA : Sharjah FC head coach Jose Morais said his side face a difficult challenge when they meet Al-Duhail at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium in the seventh round of the AFC Champions League Elite group stage.
The Portuguese coach said Sharjah’s preparations had gone well ahead of what he described as a key match in their bid to qualify for the round of 16, stressing that victory was the primary objective for both teams.
“Both teams have the same number of points before tomorrow’s match and the chances of qualification are equal,” Morais said. “That makes the game very intense, with both sides pushing hard to win and collect the three points.”
Morais also praised Al-Duhail, highlighting the quality within their squad and their strength when playing at home.
“They have high-quality players and will work hard to achieve a positive result on their own ground,” he added.
The Sharjah coach expressed confidence in his players’ ability to deliver the required performance and meet expectations in pursuit of a favourable result.
