DOHA: World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka has revealed she is engaged to Brazilian businessman Georgios Frangulis, sharing the joyful news with fans on social media.
Sabalenka posted a video of the proposal on Instagram, captioned “You & me, forever,” along with a ring and heart emoji.
The announcement was quickly met with an outpouring of congratulations from across the tennis world, including messages from Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic and Amanda Anisimova — who could potentially face Sabalenka in the quarterfinals of the upcoming Indian Wells tournament.
The WTA 1000 event in the California desert will mark Sabalenka’s first appearance since her runner-up finish at the Australian Open in January. She fell in a three-set battle to Elena Rybakina, losing 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 in the final.
Now, with a major life milestone celebrated, Sabalenka turns her focus back to the court as she prepares to begin her Indian Wells campaign on Wednesday.
