QSL announces schedule as clubs get ready for restart

DOHA: The Qatar Stars League (QSL) announced the schedule of matches in Weeks 18, 19 and 20 of the 2019-20 season after co-ordination with the authorities concerned.

The matches will be played at three stadiums having cooling technology – Education City, Al Janoub and Jassim bin Hamad.

It may be noted that the kick-off timings and venues of matches in the last two weeks (21 and 22) will be finalized later based on the results and standings of teams in the table, as the QSL is keen to provide all clubs with equal opportunities.

Covid-19 tests for clubs tomorrow

Meanwhile, the first phase of protocol, developed by the Qatar Stars League and approved by the Ministry of Public Health, will begin on Monday, 8th June, 2020, according to the general plan and in preparation for the resumption of training and matches of 2019-20 season QNB Stars League.

Accordingly, the players as well as technical and administrative staff will be subject to Coronavirus (Covid-19) tests, which will take place at the Ali bin Hamad Al Attiyah Stadium, as per the precautionary measures and in co-operation with the Ministry of Public Health.

Then, all players as well as technical and administrative staff will return to their homes under self-quarantine until the test results come. In the event of a positive case (let it not happen by God’s grace), he will undergo the procedures of Ministry of Public Health. If the test result is negative, he will join the team at their hotel as per schedule.

It should be noted that the protocol was developed to suit three phases, and aims to reduce and control the risk of virus spreading between team members and players, as they return to training and action. It follows all preventive and precautionary measures, and a workshop was organized for all technical staff involved to explain the procedures for training during the first phase.
