DOHA (Qatar): Al Ahli would be looking forward to remain on winning track when they take on Al Rayyan in the seventh round of Qatar Stars League tomorrow.
“Al Rayyan are a team that has high quality. But we have strengths, including harmony and team spirit among the players. We have to play with all our capabilities in order to achieve a good result against Al Rayyan,” said Ahli head coach Nebojsa Jovovic.
“We play as a unit in defence, offence and in the middle. And our defence starts with the attackers. In general, we defend as one block and we know that Al Rayyan have high quality as they are not only good in attack, but they are good in all aspects.
“Our good position in the league (second spot) is an incentive for us to provide our best. I invite the fans of the team to come to the stadium and support the players. The atmosphere is great and we need their presence, which will delight the players and I promise them that they will perform well,” added Jovovic.
Al Ahli goalkeeper Ivanildo Rodrigues said, “We have a difficult proposition in which we will face Al Rayyan and we have to continue our progress in the competition and appear well. We continue our work seriously and enjoy what our coach is doing and I am confident everyone will be ready.
“The match will not be easy and this is something we know well. There is great quality in Al Rayyan ranks and we have to be on the top of our readiness to face them. I feel proud when I listen to the positive feedback about Al Ahli, be it in defence or offence, especially since everyone is working hard for the good of the team and to preserve our position in the league.”
