Doha: The Qatar Basketball Federation (QBF) Board of Directors convened its fourth meeting on Monday evening, chaired by Federation President Mohammed bin Saad Al-Mughaiseeb, with all board members in attendance. The session focused on reviewing organizational priorities and endorsing several strategic recommendations designed to accelerate the growth and competitiveness of basketball across Qatar.
Opening the meeting, Al-Mughaiseeb extended his appreciation to the Federation’s committees and working teams for their sustained efforts over recent months.
He highlighted the significant progress achieved at both the national team level and in domestic competitions, noting that the upcoming phase will build on this momentum through a comprehensive development vision aimed at enhancing performance, participation, and governance.
The Board addressed key items on its agenda, beginning with the approval of minutes from the previous meeting. Members then discussed ongoing preparations for the Ordinary General Assembly scheduled for February 5, 2026, including the technical files and administrative reports to be presented.
A major focus of the meeting was the review of the Federation’s long-term strategy, centered on strengthening administrative systems, elevating technical standards, expanding grassroots engagement, and further empowering Qatar’s national teams.
Discussions also covered planned updates to the Federation’s regulations and statutes, ensuring alignment with modern governance frameworks and the evolving requirements of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).
