Doha, Qatar: Hosts Qatar defeated Iran 2-0 and UAE got the better of Australia 2-1 to qualify for the men’s final, while Iran defeated Indonesia 2-0 and Japan overcame the challenge of Australia 2-1 to book their places in the women’s final of the FIP Asia Padel Cup organized by the International Padel Federation (FIP) together with the Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF) and Padel Asia at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex on Thursday.
The finals of both the men’s and women’s section will be played on Friday starting at 4.00pm,while the losing semi finalists of both the men’s and women’s section will fight for the third and fourth place positions starting at 1.00pm.
In the men’s section, Qatar started off proceedings on an impressive note in the first match and continued in the same fashion in the second match to script a 2-0 win over Iran and march into the final.
