DOHA : Qatar SC coach Marquez Lopez said his side face a difficult challenge when they take on Al Ahli in the 14th round of the Doha Bank Stars League, stressing the importance of securing a positive result.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference, the Spanish coach said his team would give everything to achieve victory despite recent setbacks.
“We know the match will be tough, but we will do all we can to win,” Lopez said, adding that luck had not been on their side in their previous outing, a 2-1 defeat to Al Sailiya.
Lopez praised Qatar SC’s gradual improvement in performances from one match to the next and expressed hope that this progress would soon translate into better results.
“We will continue to work, stay focused and give our maximum in order to win and move forward in the league,” he said.
Jordan international Nizar Al-Rashdan echoed his coach’s sentiments, describing the clash with Al Ahli as a difficult one but underlining the team’s ambition to collect points.
“Our ambition is always to win,” Al-Rashdan said, adding that he was happy to be playing in the Qatari league, which he described as highly competitive at the Asian level and featuring distinguished players and a high technical standard.
